A friend of ours not-so-gently reminded me that it has been far to long since I’ve updated our blog (thank you for that BTW!). It’s not that I haven’t updated the photo gallery, it’s just that I never seem to make the time to actually post links to the new pictures! So, here it goes, I’m going to link to all our recent updates and then I’ll try to get back to regular updates after the July 4th holiday.
There, happy Trisha?

Yesterday was scarry. Andrea’s parents were in town, Andrea and her mom had gone shopping while Ron, Sydeny and I held down the fort at home. Next thing I know Andrea text messages me saying they were all being ushered into a break area in the store they were at due to a tornado warning and that we should take cover. We turned on the news and the radar pictures and weather men commentary was more dire than I’ve ever heard. Our part of town was surronded by tornados (reports of 5 different twisters but only 1 caused damage). Through God’s grace and mercy all the tornados went North and South of our house but 250 other homes were destroyed within a 5 mile radius. Thank God everyone we know made it through uninjured and without damage, albeit with some good stories and pictures and in at least one case with only 50 yards to spare!
We’re all okay and so is our home. Thanks to everyone who called with concerns yesterday!

And finaly a quick video on YouTube. I don’t know who took this but this F3 twister was on the ground on and off for 15-20 minutes.
Well it looks like I had a senior moment (before I’m even close to being a senior)… The day we returned from MI after Sydney’s birthday party I edited and uploaded the photos to the website but completely forgot to make a blog post about ‘em! Anyay, we just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to join us for Sydney’s first birthday party. I’m sorry we didn’t get to spend more time with everyone but seeing everyone again was wonderful! Anyway, we’ll be heading back to MI for Ted & Michelle’s wedding in just 5 days. We’re getting quite used to that drive!
Anyway, there are 4 pages of photos for you to check out from the party. Click on the images below and you’ll be taken to the gallery.
If you placed them end-to-end, $3.6 trillion single dollar bills placed end to end, would reach from Earth to the Sun and then back to Earth and then back to the Sun — and then 3/4 of the way back to Earth again.
Placed end to end $3.6 trillion single dollar bills would circle the earth 14,010 times.
Stacked flat, $3.6 trillion single dollar bills would extend past the moon by 5,463 miles.
If you spent $1 million a day you wouldn’t run out of money for 9,863 years.
You’ve GOT to be kidding me!! A whole year has gone by already? Everyone always says once you have kids time flies… Well they ain’t lying! One year ago today, at 8:50PM central time, Sydney joined the world. To celebrate we went out to dinner and the waiters and waitresses sang Sydney happy birthday and gave her ice cream with chocolate and whip cream and she loved it! We then took her to Toys-R-Us and picked up her first birthday present. Tomorrow we head out on our long weekend trip to Michigan to celebrate Sydney’s birthday with our family and friends.
In the past year Sydney’s had a lot of firsts and we’ve tried to share them with you through this site. We’ve uploaded hundreds of photos, a few videos and posted updates as often as we could. Over the next year we’ll continue doing this as long as you continue visiting!
I know, I’m about an hour and a half late to wish this (officially Valentines Day was yesterday). Andrea talked me into taking some studio shots of Sydney for her first Valentine’s Day and I’m glad she did. They came out great! This image links to our favorites. These were taken on Saturday evening, 2/14.
It sure is nice to have the windows open and the heat off for a change. For the past week we’ve have great weather in the high 50’s and low 60’s. Although it gets cold at night, not seeing our breath during the day sure is nice. Anyway, I spent some time today updating some of the photos Andrea has taken so far this month. Check em out by clicking on this “sample.”
It’s 75 degrees here today and forecasted to be in the high sixties / low seventies all this coming week. I just hope it stays this way and doesn’t go back to freezing!
I’ve added serveral new pictures to the January 2009 gallery. Sydney has been sick the past week with a bad cold and ear infection but is just about over it (just in time for Andrea and I to catch it). Nothing much new, Sydney got another tooth this past week bringing her total to 8. She still hasn’t started walking but her first steps can’t be far off! Anyway, click this image to see the latest updates.
