Keeping up with the Livernois

Looks like congratulations are in order for my brother-in-law Bob. He’s continuing his ascension up the ranks of Michigan educational leadership. I can’t think of a more deserving chap. Congrats bro!

According to the Warren Consolidated School District website:

The Warren Consolidated Schools Board of Education unanimously approved to hire Robert D. Livernois, Ph.D. for the position of Superintendent of Schools at a Special Board of Education Meeting held February 12, 2008. Upon completion of the negotiation of this contract, Dr. Livernois will be approved at the Regular Board of Education Meeting on March 5, 2008. Dr. Livernois is presently Superintendent of Warren Woods Public Schools. His experience includes serving as Director of Curriculum & Pupil Accounting, High School Principal and Assistant Principal for Warren Woods Public Schools. He began his career as an English teacher at South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

Dr. Livernois holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State University and still serves as an adjunct professor of Education with the university. Additionally, Dr. Livernois serves on the Executive Boards of the Tri-County Alliance and the Metropolitan Bureau of School Studies, two regional organizations working in support of public education.

This move brings nearly 5 times the responsibility of his current school district (Warren Woods) and puts him at the helm of one of Michigan’s largest public school districts (top 10) with General Motors as it’s heart as the largest tax payer.

As his first official act, it looks like Dr. Livernois has already imparted his leadership “influence” over the districts webmaster and had the person stretch his photo to make him look thinner! :) Just kidding Bob.
